I have my HiLift on the hood with three KC's mounted on the holder so I need to black out the hood because of reflection, and putting the louvers in would work perfect.

Looks great guys.

Any chance you guys getting ready to do this could get BEFORE and AFTER under hood temp data.

I would think a good meat thermometer would do the trick.

I just ordered GenRight's 5 piece louver kit - mostly for my JBA Headers that get unGodly hot.... I will have to take some before and after temps to see how well it actually works. Combined with removing the hood insulation and changing the thermostat settings, I think it will do quite well!

Update with pics... Didn't bother with pics of the unfinished hood as it looked the same as what others have previously posted. Wish I had an accurate temp difference for everyone, but we had a good cold front move in, so my recorded after modification temp is likely over exaggerated. Regardless, as nervous as I was for those first cuts in the hood, it came out awesome. If anything, it looks cool as hell!

Would there be any adverse affects of bedlining these things?

I would just measure your engine bay temps and compare that to your bedline spray recommended temps.... I dont see a problem with it as long as the lining can take the temps.

.
I had Grand Prix louvers on my XJ's hood and painted them silver to match the Jeep. No problems with heat affecting the paint.
