I guess this is a write up? I've had alot of people asking me about how to do it. i figured it would be more helpfull to people if they could see how it's done.

I wanted to do that (wanted - past tense). That seems like a royal PITA!!

And why bother? to get a face full of bugs? I don't think so. Works in Africa at slow speed but not on the highway. I did it with my CJ7 - but that was a 1 minute job.

Talking Awesome!

Nice video and a great idea to post it for folks who are sittin' on the fence about lowering their windshield. It is indeed a PITA, and not for the street queen crowd (might break a nail), but well worth it. The only thing that offers more open-air freedom than doors/top off and windshield down is a unicycle.

Maybe this should be in offroad 101 tho? Or both? Who knows...

just ride a motorcyle..takes me 10 seconds to fire the bike up and ride down the street with all the wind, bugs and rocks hitting me that i want for that open air freedom. I think some people have way to much time to go the trouble of lowering the windshield for a short drive but hey rock on! FYI...its highly illegal in most (all i think) to ride like that without eye protection. you can and will get pulled over without it. put some glasses on!

Can't speak for anyone else, but I am not talking about cruising down the interstate, lol. As the owner's manual states, the windshield is designed to be lowered for off-roading (as is the entire vehicle of course)- that's what I am referring to. Some folks on here have enjoyed a trip at higher speeds with the shield down, more power to 'em...
