I like to put the shield down while at the drive-in movies for a clear view but other than that it is too much of a pain. In my TJ I could lower the windshield in about 3 minutes.

thanks everyone, the tools were laing on the hood so that people that don't know about tools could see what they are. it's not like i'm too worried about scratches on the paint. it's a jeep. it allready has scratches and dents. having the w/s down on public roads and highways is a big no-no! unless your driving a old willys that is historic the folded w/s is for off road use only. even in my willys it's not a great idea, it's too dangerous on the road. it is a pain in the @$$ but nothing worth doing is easy. i love crusing down the beach w/ it down. as for the hood holding it, i've never had that problem. i do over 20 some miles on the beach and off road w/ it down. did you strap it down to the hood or let it loose?

i use a 18v dewalt. i didn't show that because if someone is smart enough to use a power tool i would hope they're not dumb enough to hurt themself w/ it. the last thing i would want is to hear some numb nut broke a finger being stupid.
