Man, you must have been wrestling hard with it!

slide red tab out and pinch the green block where the red tab slid out from.

should release easily

If you cracked that block badly, you will want to do something to seal it up against moisture.

glue, tape, shrink wrap, something to keep out the moisture as best you can

Thank's but I think it's good ,just a real fine crack. Have spent the last hour kicking my myself. Was trying to get done before sun went down and completely forgot about the damn clips. It's a Wonder I was able to seperate them at all. Still I'll put a bead of glue over it first chance I get.

Even with the tab released, and the button depressed the old lights were a pain to try to pry out of the old sockets.

must be different with every jeep. Mine also came off easy.

2008, had to trim. Used a rotary tool to do it.

trimmed! and then I also snipped the middle angle piece just a little (was a bit long, high and wide - look at the bulb you pulled and compare) and then it clicked right in tight - no zip tie needed.
