I didn't have to touch the grill at all....Not sure why you would have to do that?
On another note, I just got the rear hook in today and got it installed....

ok sorry bout that it's up and working now but it gives you a long way to do it for example it says to pull the grill off which you don't have to do i just took off the air dam unbolted the bumper set it in the grass and unbolted the the inner metal part then i used a dremal tool on hi speed with a drill bit cut the top squares and then on the backside of the bumper i cut it big enough so the horse shoe shaped part of the tow hooks fit in so when i put it all back together and bolted the bumper on it was still flush fitting good luck to all
O.K. Just a disclaimer...I'm not posting any pics of this mod so get over it.
I found it very helpful to read through everyone else's posts on this forum about the install especially considering my hooks didn't come with instructions. In addition I would like to add a couple of helpful hints:
I do have the privilege of a sawzall but it's wasn't that helpful so instead I used a a drill with a small bit. Just drill small holes like preforations in an outline of where you want to cut then just punch out the piece and file the edges. It takes about 5 seconds and actually works not to mention most people have a drill already. The drill cut through the plastic like butter.
As far as the plastic air dam fasteners are concerned I wrangled them out with pliers and although I busted them all up pretty good they seemed to go back in with no problem. I used a hammer to put them back in. Just line them up and whack away with a hammer.
Good Luck.

rotozip is definately the way to go!! man that was easy....didn't take any pics, sorry, I was kinda in the moment and wanted to get it done.Start to finish it took about an hour, but about 15 minutes of that was taking the plastic air dam off and trying not to break any of those plastic clips. Thanks everyone.
And it will protect you from rocks!
So, I have to take the jeep to the dealer for the G40 recall, and some other computer stuff. I have the tow hooks, but have yet to put them on. I take them with me to ask how much they would charge to put them on. I was quoted $230.
After my laughter subsided I told them no, I'll put them on myself. 2 hrs of labor? That seems very excessive. They charged me a 1/2 hour labor just to re-program my computer for 32" tires. Hmmm, that's 5 minutes to re-program the computer and 25 minutes for the snack break? They charged me less for the freaking oil change that probably took more labor and time. Plus, I have to take a 1/2 day off of work to get it all done.
Me thinks I won't be going back to the dealer for service anymore. I'll go buy me a new rotozip and do it myself.
