I just spliced the stock wires and twisted each strips wire with one of the 2 ends from the stock wire and then crimped them all together.

Ok, I think I follow you. So both positives(of pair of LED wires) went to one side of the stock wire that had been spliced and the negatives to the other side. So there were 2 connections, each with 3 wires crimped together? You didn't splice any to a ground? Is that because LEDs are a low draw?

I have a total of 2 connections. 1 for the 2 hot wires into the Orange and grey wire, and the other one is the 2 ground wires into the black wire in the back of the power outlet.
Each side of each crimp should have 1 wire from the jeep and 1 wire from the strip. If that still doesn't help, I can try to pull one back out from hiding and take a picture.

Haha no I don't want you to go through the trouble, but thanks for offering! I think I got it. I just got confused cause I have a pair of LEDs, which means 4 wires, not 2.
I'll just tap a pair into the dimmer wire and a pair into the ground. I may even go the extra step and route them through a switch so I can turn off just the LEDs if they're too bright & on long drives. Thanks again! I love this forum.

My LED install. I routed the wires through a rocker panel on the A-pillar so I could turn them off as well as dim them. I think it turned out pretty cool.

Looks great! I just got my dome lights in. Can't wait to get off work and complete this project.

The strip lights at autozone come in red, blue, yellow and white.
The dome lights had a few more colors.

for those who have done the dome lights:

I recently installed red LED dome lights I bought off ebay, they work fine except for the rear dome light they do not work when you push the light to turn it on. Anyone else have this problem? If yours works with the push-on light, where did you get the light?

Thanks
