Thanks to this writeup identifying the correct leads, I was able to do this mod (and add a LED strip inside the glove box as well) over the weekend without breaking out the multimeter

Does anyone know if the wiring configuration (orange and gray) is the same on the 2011? I know they changed the interior on mine a lot. My buddy has a 2010 and there are a lot of little differences. For example, he has two power outlets on his lower panel. I have one and where the other one would have been there is a clip for holding papers, maps, etc.

Just did it...FYI...nothing is the same...no bolts, no orange and gray wire (that I saw), and the wiring harness is 3x the size. The 2011 is different. I wired mine to my DC outlet stuck it on the same. I dont mind it being on at all times. Low draw. Off when the jeep is off. Getting the panel off is a MAJOR PITA hook and latch at the top and stiff plastic retainers all around...only broke two!

Quite easy and I used butt connectors which was the only thing I had on hand, so it was good enough. Thanks for the write up!
Where did you get the light on your profile picture on your jeep on the side of your grille?

I am about to buy 4 under body led bars and 2 interior bars. Has anyone ever used them? I am wondering if they will light the ground enough to show up?

Can't get it to work!!!!! damn LED wires are too small for the splicers I think. I tried reconnecting a few times just won't work. My hands hurt from trying to work in that small space. Gonna take a break and have at it again.

edit: went and tried a few more times. all my connections were good. does this not work with 2010 JKs? I followed the write up exactly. hmmmmm
