Plasti Dip testing
Did a trial run on my spare today. First attempt was a major fail! I left the spare mounted and the bottom spokes came out textured and rough. While the uppers were nice and smooth. That being said it peeled of real easy. Second attempt is better but still not perfect. There are visible spots and the products seems to want to peel off of the edge where the tire contacts the wheel. Not sure I'm I'm going to peel it and try again or just leave it.
Rims come out better when u take them off. Definitely clean them first. If you get spots it's usually either the last of the can ot u are not clearing the spray nozzle before the next coat. Try a quick spray on a news paper before hitting the tire.
Anytime u r having a hard time peeling off the plastidip just grab a paper towel and spray it with brake cleaner. It'll just wipe right off.
And it lasts forever when u put it on. I have had my rims and grill done for 2 northern Ontario winters and it has held up great

Looking for advice. Did my hinges, but it doesn't come out with clean edges at all. What am i doing wrong here? It was masked off, and about 4-5 coats applied with about 5 min between coats. I peeled the tape after about 20 minutes filling the last coat.

If you let the plastidip dry there is no enough of an edge, and it peals a bit when u pull the tape. Try to Use a razor blade and run it on the edge before pulling the tape (lightly). It worked for me when I did my rockers.
