I have adapted your idea and instead of using 1/2" washers, I bought steel bar stock and cut and drilled to fit the whole "footprint" of the rear seat floor mounts. It is the same thickness as 4 stacked washers in front and 3 stacked washers for the back rear seat legs.
here's some picture with dimensions too.
The rear seat is much more comfortable now.
Thanks again for the great idea!!
Trail Bud - That's awesome! I love you bar stock idea so much, I'm pulling out the washers this weekend. Heck I might even get out the welder.

ColinH - I respect your right to be concerned. So don't do the mod.

Thanks to all the others for the feedback as well.

Does anyone make a kit for this yet?

Or maybe the dimensions to all the pieces?

I did my rear seat tonight.
I just adjusted the back of the seat, not the seat bottom part.
I took a picture after I completed the passenger side.
You can see how much of a difference that it made.
I sat back there, and it's still not the best, however it is much better now.

It does still fold flat.
I just adjusted the "back of the seat" bolts (which there are 3).
The front 4 bolts I left alone (I did not modify them).
I used the flat bar stock with a hole drilled in them.
HTH!

Just did this today, Only did the back 3 bolts and used 2 galvanized washers a piece, Left the front floor bolts alone. The difference even with only 2 washers is noticable.

I dont really see a safety issue using washers unless alot of washers are used, there is plenty of thread on the bolts left and if you only do the back 3, there are still 7 other bolts that are in place that are unmodified.

Thanks for the great write up and idea!
