Bought the dupli-color paint. Will be done over the weekend. Thanks for the idea...

I have done everything but the steering wheel spokes I dont know how to take them off. On the speacker covers I masked the center holes and they look pretty good.

Hey, TheonlyREDhead 2008 JK

Did you mask and spray the instrument area or use a brush? I have read enough on how to get to the panel but not alot of detail on neatly painting the instrument trim rings.

Nice work.

What color and kind of paint are you using for the flame red? Is it mopar paint or duplicolor? Funny story here. I came across the silver bumper covers off of a 2008 JK and decided to paint them the same color as the jeep and install them on my wifes JK. After a few days of sanding/painting/ re-doing etc... I get a finished product. So I go outside and lay the cover over the bumper and take a look. It actually looked good. Anyway, I left it laying on the bumper so my wife could look at it and "pat me on the back" for a job well done. Heres where it gets funny. I went inside to do something and came out later to find my wife had taken the jeep to the store. I was in the yard as she pulled up and noticed the bumper was all black. As she got out and saw my face she knew what had happened. I re-traced her route and found it cracked and broken.

***** Special Note*****

Put the screws in the bumper cover before driving!!!!!

If anyone has the front cover for a bumper they dont want, let me know

I painted my vent rings Yellow with the Krylon for Plastic and it came great, almost matched the Detonator Yellow exactly. Pics coming soon.

Answered my own question for the above. There are about six 7mm hex bolts holding the pieces on. Two of them are hidden behind the shifter console. The only way I found to remove those two, was to remove the shifter console completely, which then provides you easy access to those last two 7mm bolts.

Painted my new Jeep's vent rings. Now I am looking for a Yellow shift knob. I am thinking about this MOMO one below: I have to call them to see if it will fit.
