EDIT: ALL IMAGES ARE CLICKABLE FOR THE FULL SIZE PICTURE.
I was curious to see how well built the amp in our Jeeps are and to give a good review of its output and sound. I must say that I am very pleased with the fidelity of the stock infinity sound system. The bass is awesome even when its cranked it doesnt sound distorted. After a little tuning of the lows mids and highs I am very suprised at this sound system.
UPDATE
I HAVE DONE SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND SOME GREAT INFO ON THIS SMALL BUT POWERFUL AMP! READ PAGE TWO TO SEE THE POWER OF THE NEW AMPLIFIER CHIPS. VERY IMPRESSIVE LITTLE DEVICES

The amp has a decent housing, small but well built.

REVISED: Read page 2 for the impressive Chip inside this amp

What are your plans for an upgrade? It seems to me that most of the bass is coming from the front speakers and not the sub. The roll bar speakers are weak and need replacing...its almost as if they are not there when faded to the rear. I think I might bypass the rear channel on the stock amp and install a 3 or 4 channel amp to run a better sub and a good set of soundbar speakers. I think I will leave the front channel on the amp and install a good set of components for the front. Thoughts anyone.....anyone. Buller...?

I personally like the stock infinity system. If you fade to the rear at about 5 on the headunit, you retain the highs in the front and send more power to the rear. When I tune my SATALITE RADIO to the dance/techno station that subwoofer really pounds. I am really impressed by the infinity sytem!!! SO dont count it out just yet!
I zoomed in on the picture and did not see any pots to adjust.
It may be possible to adjust with with software, but I have no idea. My stock system thumps pretty damn good, but I could always use more!
Thanks for the pictures!

Here is the real questions:
1. Which speakers does it actually provide extra power?
2. How easy would it be to modify the input signal wires(from the HU) and the signal output wires(to the speakers) by pulling that amp out and plugging in a actual amp that can push the infinity speakers? I mean besides finding a mounting spot and running a new power line for the upgraded amp.

The best you could do is clip some input resistors and jump them but i think the potential of this amp is already at its MAX. Mine thumps nicely and I plan on keeping it pretty much stock. I have an 8 inch JL 8W3V2 and an amp laying around. But I am not sure I want to install it. It really doesnt need more but since I have the stuff already I might. I will definately write it up if I do.

If you replaced it you would have to run large gauge power wire because the stock power is insufficent. If you upgrade the amp and use a harness to plug in all the speakers you will need to upgrade the infinity speakers too because they will likely blow.
