The drawer is metal but you can easily cut a small piece of carpet or non skid mat to line the bottom if you are going to put other metal objects in it. Tuffy offers both vinyl and carpet by the foot or you can pick up some scrap material locally.

Thanks for the info. The UPS guy just dropped off mine from Northridge tonight. After I struggled with my MORE body lift, I learned to read the writeup BEFORE I tackle a job.

I usually do keep it on me, but where I work I can't have the gun on my person when I come through the gate, hence looking for a storage solution... I currently use a holster mounted in the center console, but it really isn't all that secure to prying hands...

You should be able to get to the drain plug from the side with a long open end wrench but not from the top with a socket.

Default Custom Foam Insert

Thanks for this write up. Mine is on back order right now from Quadratec but looking forward to installing it as soon as it arrives.

Has anyone found a place that will make a custom foam insert for this drawer? I really would like to have a custom made insert to hold my Glock 23 .40, Karr P9 9mm, two clips and additional ammo. I want it to look like a professional camera case with specific and custom cut outs for these items.

I found a company in Chapel Hill, NC called CaseCAD (www.casecad.com) but I have not tried them. Any suggestions on how to get this would be greatly appreciated.

I received mine yesterday and the install was pretty straightforward. Took me much longer to get the seat bolts out than to install the box. My only impact wrench is an old 12V cordless type.

Total time, maybe 20 minutes.

I was very impressed with the quality of the box and will probably buy a glovebox and console in the future.

I received mine from Northridge4x4 and installed it today after I changed my oil. Great product and install was easy! Here are a few pictures:

Thanks for the write-up. I've been looking at the trunk cabinet. Didn't know there was an under seat drawer.

Question: Can this mount under the either driver or passenger seats?

Cheers,

Ant
