Got mine yesterday - it took me longer to find a 18mm socket than it did to install. Anyone change the lock?

Default My Thumb Pull is attached to Combo....

I got my thumb pull plate to work with the combo. The only re-consideration is going back to the key entry. To bend down to see those tiny combo numbers is very difficult. If you are going to carry a weapon and need to get to it quickly, keep this in mind. You can drive with the safe drawer secured but not locked but if you forget to turn the combo, you could have given access to that weapon and/or valuables. Kids watch and are very curious. Before you know it, they will be showing your weapon to another child. BE CAUTIOUS.

NON SLIP RUBBER DRAWER LINERS WORK GREAT!, KEEPS MOISTURE OFF YOUR WEAPON. Just make sure you clean your weapon MORE FREQUENTLY.

Installing the drawer took just 5 minutes, but the installing the combo on the drawer took a bit longer to get it to fit. The thumb pull does not fit with the combo lock. Makes it a tad harder to pull open, but still easy to pull from the bottom. I like being able to turn the knob and secure it without a key. I just wish I could get a combo lock on the tuffy center console as well.

Uh, the rubber one under the seat. Not sure we are talking about the same critter.
So, is there room to reach under it and pull the drain plug for when you get full of water, or does that one need to stay permanently plugged (not a huge deal either way).

i will end up with the combo lock because i hate keys. as far as getting to it in a hurry....that is why a have a holster. i am not trying to be a jerk. just saying. it does no good for you locked away. i am interested in locking up other valuables, and i think it draws less attention than the after market glove box or center console. pluss it is way cheaper.

Default Holsters are great!

Holsters are great when used in the proper conditions. However in a Jeep, seats are tight and if your wheeling, I don't think you want to wear it on your hip. The chances of it getting caught on something is obvious. If you were to get into a roll, freeing yourself with that on your hip could hinder a fast escape. I JUST WANT JEEP OWNERS TO REALIZE THE IMPORTANCE OF MAKING SURE THE BOX IS "LOCKED". Especially with kids around as they are curious to see what other Jeeps look like and OMG if they were to find a weapon. I have personally experienced a trip when a gun was found under a seat and the owner forgot he had put it there and a 7 year old came out waving it. FRIGHTENED EVERYONE!

You can get to it. It is not super easy but I could squeeze my fingers in and get the plug in and out.

I lined the Tuffy with tool-box thin rubber liner, from a local Home Improve Store, and silicon glue (no smell like rubber glues) to attach it, worker great .. Oh and I wish I had a breaker bar, had to use another wrench as a 'helper' and still a bear to remove the seat bolts

i wear my holster all the time. i got used to the seat, but i am a medium sized guy so i could see bigger people having a problem, and out wheeling, camping, hunting, or out at the lake i totally get it. that is the same thing i thought i would use it for. i just figured it would not be hard to access because more than likely i would be standing out side the vehicle to open the drawer, and not actually be in the vehicle when needing access. i think the most underrated part of it is the fact that i is "hidden" my personal experiences with people breaking in to cars is that is is a moment of opportunity and convenience, and generally happens in a short time span. something catches their eye and a smash and grab happens. i always wonder if having a great big neon sign in the form of a after market glove box or center console could attract the wrong kind of attention. and even though they may not be successful at breaking it open they will still smash the hell out of you vehicle TRYING to get in, and that is what i dont want. i just with the under seat drawer were taller so it could fit more of my crap
