I haven't heard of any strictly jeep clubs but I would love to join one. I tried to start something awhile back with members of another forum but it fell through.

Beach run from sabine pass to high island on what used to be highway 87. I am thinking it is about a 21 or so mile run. I have never done it, just been wanting to.

Yea sounds like a plan should be running 35s and flatties by then so it should be no problem. We can do a meet and greet before then if we have enough people up for it.

Shift worker here! Just checked my schedule, short off weekend! I'm in!
Did this run in 2004 b4 the storms! But coming back east HI Island to Sea Rim. Awesome run then! There was even a nude beach there at the time. Not cool. I didn't know if we could make that run anymore with all the damage. Haven't been since. :(

Some of the Houston Jeep People group did this run last summer. It was their group that dropped a dime on the dufus for buzzing the beach so low he was snagging the lines hanging from surf rods. The only real caveat I am aware of is when passing through the Sea Rim state park boundaries vehicles must stay on the beach and not get into the shoreline dunes. The only other problem is the "nude" beach if it still exist. From what I heard there never is anything worth looking at and what there is to see qualifies as fat coyote ugly.

I'll have to check closer to the date but my son and I should be up for it.
