Kansas/Missouri Trails?
There are a few of us here in Olathe. The nearest actual offroad park is probably Tuttle Creek in Manhattan, or Kansas Rocks down by Fort Scott. There are a few other assorted places that people have gone off road, but nothing official nearby other than those two. A few in southern MO too, but I can't remember their names at the moment.
We all also get together once a month, the second Tuesday of the month at 6:30. In February, it will be at Johnny's in Olathe, at K-10 & Ridgeview.

Head out into the Flint Hills. Not real 4 wheeling, but great backroads exploring, wonderful scenery (in the right time of the year), and some good moments for pictures. Take a lunch.
I have encountered roads where 2 wheel drives cannot go. You drive enough in the Flint Hills and you will get deep water crossings, rocky and muddy roads, sand washes, etc.
Might want to take a GPS too.
And a winch can come in handy in the right (wrong) places.
Good luck!

Tuttle Creek is pretty decent, and you can definitely get stuck out there if you want. I've had my share of fun out there, been meaning to make it back here soon.
Sorry it took so long to reply. I haven't been on the board for a while.
I have no GPS coordinates. When I lived in Emporia I would head out of town in any direction and keep to gravel/dirt roads. I was never disappointed in the scenery or some of the old buildings I encountered. Just make your own way.
I do the same thing in Colorado. That is how I have found some absolutely fantastic areas and campsites.
Good luck!
