Should I go back to 20?? It's synthetic...suggestions..
Knock on wood... but so far (at 49,000 miles) I've not burned oil... I run Mobil 1 5W-20.... if I were you, I'd go back to 5W-20 and see if that fixes it...

If that doesn't fix it, and you are out of warranty (or don't care about warranty issues of the oil you run) try 10W-30.

1qt per 1,000 miles is the upper level of what Chrysler considers "normal". Any more oil burn than that and they will repair/replace the engine under warranty. However, 1 qt. per 1,000 miles is a LOT of oil.

For reference, I change my oil every 5,500 - 6,000 miles... so if I were to burn oil at that rate I'd never have to pull my drain plug

Poor quality oil filters will do that. The Mopar ones are good. I use the Mobil 1 and they are good as well... Avoid Fram
