Default Trails near St Louis

Ok i am new to this area. i go to school here and i recently bought a 2011 jku sahara. I was just looking for some trails near the st louis area. i know theres is a bunch that are a in farmington area and springfield. i just don't always have the whole day to drive an hour or more to get there to spend the day. i was just wondering if there is a few places don't have to be big but somewhere i could do a little wheeling, i havn't been able to wheel since i have been down here and just want to get out a little bit

Not a lot. Like you mentioned, Farmington (St Joe St Park), Washita is down south too (I think about two hours-not sure though), SMORR (Seymor, MO), Flat Nasty Off Road Park (about 2-2.5 hours southwest). There is a place near Troy, MO that has a few trails that is called Lets Go Nutz Offroad. They have a website. I haven't been there. I've heard it's not the greatest, but I guess it's better than nothing. Where you going to school?

Lindenwood i'm there playing golf at the moment last semester here. And i went to that Lets go Nutz place and it was closed during hunting season or something like that. And yeah there really isn't much in the way of side roads and trails that we have an abundance of in Van. my luck i would end up on someones land with out even knowing it.

As previously stated, most of us go to Washita(1.5hrs), SMORR(3hrs), FlatnNasty(2hrs), sometimes Sayersbrooke Bison Ranch(1.5hrs) and there is also a place off 44 in Sullivan(1hr)that some peeps go to. Unfortunately, there really isn't anything to close to our area to go.

back when i was growing up there we used to go to a place near the meramac river. the road to get there was somewhere near Baldwin off of Manchester road.i can't remember the name of the area though. it had some sand dunes and creek/river stuff and was decent sized.i think if you take Manchester out west past Carson road a mile or two you make a left on"sorry can't remember ". i know that you could see the ski slope from the road and there was some tiny train tracks running through the trail. I know that this isn't much help but it was hella fun. the other end of the trail was at a railroad bridge going over the river with many trails all throughout. many a summer was spent there. I will try and find out the name of the area. probably all condos now or something. just found out, the town or area or whatever was called Shermann. maybe its on a map.

1582-1586 St Paul Rd, Ballwin, MO 63021

there ya go, tracked it down on the map.

It's illegal to be in there. It was fun though back in the day. What's cool though, is they have a miniture train there now. These train cars are about 10-15 foot long and you can take rides. The kides love it. They take you back in the woods about 1-2 miles. Pretty cool.

oops i forgot about the running from cops part. however i think east of the railroad tracks was legal?? the mud trail area not the raised area with the sand. i don't remember ever having.g any issues there except for if we got stuck and.left the locals burned or stripped our cars.
