When your suspension compresses, your axle will also move back and away from the rock rail/pinch seam. Shouldn't need to cut anything

when i go to do mine, I'm going to use a chop saw. That way I know the cut will be straight

I got second hand rubi rails and I am chopping them 1" as well. Glade I am not the only one thinking about this.
