You should consider yourself super lucky to be 16 and have an 08 JK.......I would of been in awe at 16 with a jeep like that. I do not think you will notice a ride difference with a leveling kit. One thing you will most likley find is at some highway speeds you may get some hood flutter. There are some threads on the hood flutter issue. Good luck and welcome to the jeep family.

No. The TF Leveling Kit is set up to work with the stock shocks. No extensions or longer shocks are needed.

As recommended by someone else-find another 4x4 shop-they are trying to rip you off. I would go to either Teraflex or Quadratec website and view the link to the leveling kit instructions. Then you can decide if it is something that you can handle or not. If not, then find a mechanically inclined friend to help-it really is not difficult.

No alignment is necessary afterwards. I put one on my stock 2011 JKU Sahara. The only thing I have had to do is recenter the steering wheel. There is a write up on Project-JK.com on how to do this-it is VERY easy. You do not need new shocks-the Teraflex kit is designed to be used with the stock shocks.

Ahh very nice post. Cleared my confusion about keeping the stock shocks.

Ok cool. Just read somewhere about how it might look out of place with stock tires but that good to see it will work fine.

For reference, here's stock w/ Rubicon tires & wheels

Here's the stock tires and wheels with the Leveling Kit:

And here's when I added 33.5" tires to the leveling kit

Not trying to hijack the thread but...

I am installing a new front bumper and Smittybilt winch next weekend. As the combination weighs about 170 pounds, would 2" be enough to level thinks back out or should I get more? It's an 11 Rubicon JKU

Just take before and after measurements when you install the bumper/winch. Then put that much of a spacer back in.
