Default 2012 Re-geared

Just got my 2012 JKU Sport back from getting re-geared. Went from 3:21s to 5:13s. Wow! What a difference! Still in the break in period, so I'm taking it easy but it's a major difference in responsiveness. I bought the AEV Procal to deal with the limp mode issues I had read about, but I haven't had any issues. I'm going to use the Procal to flash the computer for the gear change and new tire size anyways, but I'm curious if anyone else has re-geared a 2012 and what their experience has been.

If you're still in the break-in period, then the engine hasn't even unleashed it's full power yet... so, why a regear before you even know what you've got?

Just curious...

If that's what he meant, then "good catch"!

Yeah, break in period for the gears. Jeep has 3,800 miles on it. We bought the Jeep in August. First 2012 on the lot.

You have a manual so no limp mode.

I thought that might be the reason. But I couldn't find a definitive answer on whether the limp mode issues were strictly related to autos only. So, I bought the Procal just in case. I'll still use it to adjust for the bigger tires.

Yeah, you can fix the speedo, adjust your tire pressure warning, and check out some of the other options...

Or you can sell it to me at a nice discount
Seriously these Jeeps run really good stock. How does it feel with the new gears?

It was pretty decent stock. But after I lifted it and put 35's on, the torque really dropped off. I couldn't even maintain speed in 6th gear on the freeway. I went with 5:13s to give me a little boost in torque just in case I decide to put 37's on later. I haven't been able to really test it yet until I get the gears broke in, but I can tell there's a major difference! It feels like I have a ton more power.
