All I can tell you is I had warranty work done on my clutch after re-gearing and there were no issues.

I had my 2006 LJR gears put in by a pro who's been doing it forever - said the same thing, break them in. can't remember the details right now.

I'm nervous as help about getting gears installed in a 2012. It being so new scares me. I'm currently getting axle gussets welded on and even that scares me. I think I found a good offroad shop to trust with the install tho.

What is the approximate cost of going to 4.88? Is something a guy with moderate mechanical skills could do?
