Default 2drs on 40s

I've searched and searched and didn't really pull much off of here or other sites reguarding the details of different 2 doors and 40" tires. Im winding down another tour in the middle east and I want to lift my jeep. Its a 08 JK X model 2 dr with 34,000 miles on it (tells you how many times I been gone? lol) Auto tranny and 3.73 gears. Im currently running 315 duratracs, 2.5 budget boost, 1.25 BL (which I am ditching) and it handles pretty good where I want to go but damnit I want to go bigger I believe I earned it lol. I mainly drive on the road with the occasional off road trips in the Olympic forest. I was thinking 37s but I like the look of some of the ones I seen on 40s. I wheel lightly and RARELY floor it. So im gonna run this by ya'll and see what you think.

40" Goodyear Mts
Front sleeved, gusseted, trussed, locked (ARB), 30 spline RCV shafts, 5.38 gears
rear trussed (maybe), locked (ARB), 35 spline chormoly shafts, 5.38 gears
Front and rear driveshafts
Proably keep the 1.5" wheel spacers

that's the axle side of it and I believe it would hold up to my use but that why I am here to talk to people with better experience. Now beyond that as to what lift and rims I want IDK I'll proably stick with rough country either a 4" or 6" cause of price and I don't really need flex and have had good experiances with them in the past. also could I get pictures of 2drs on 40s with various life hights? I don't want to cut more than just the pinch points and Im trying not to rub. any help would be greatly appreciated. And If I somehow missed a tread will all this info on the lifts and the 2 doors on 40s link me to it so I can read up.

5.38s won't fit in a Dana 30 I believe. You should look into a Dana 44 from a rubicon or dynatrac 44 or teraflex 44... Look up plannman. He's running 40s on a two door. You could get a 4-6 inch lift from anyone and flat flares to run 40s... Also you will need some type of tire carrier

Pretty sluggish. I would go with a D44 with 5.38's

If you plan on hard off roading you might consider a D60

well im guessing i'll have to go to D44.... what about used Rubi housings? they are about the same as my D30 right? (besides the guts) with the ball joints and calipers and all that swap right over? (i'll put new ball joints of course) were could I get an used axle housing that is a straight up bolt on swap? what years or jeeps did they come from?

Skip the 44 and go to a 60. Lots of good write ups on this subject. Definitely go with 538s

Much sympathy and empathy about your fiance. Been there. At least you found out before you tied the knot.

Sounds like you are going to wind up with a killer rig. Look At forward to the pics.

I'd recommend 1350's instead of 1310's
