I am looking to lift my jeep with a coil lift, i want a decent lift is the zone offroad 3 inch kit a decent lift? if not what would a decent 2-3 inch lift to go with? right now i have a 08 wrangler x 6spd.

 

it's a basic lift. if you do get it, i would recommend getting a set of adjustable lower control arms or upper arms to set some additional positive caster. i would also recommend getting an adjustable front track bar to help recenter your front axle. last but not least, being that you have a 2 door, i would get a new rear u-joint style drive shaft and a set of adjustable rear upper control arms so you can set your pinon angle.

if it were me, i might recommend getting something like the full traction premium plus SRS 3" lift as it comes with what you need (minus the drive shaft).

Here would be my advice. What do you want to do with the Jeep and what is your budget? Once those questions are answered you can then compare different lifts against each other. Make sure that when you compare lifts that you are taking into consideration all of the parts within each lift. If one is a better price make sure you do not need to purchase additional parts to compensate.

 

Kits in that price range will satisfy your desire to be taller,
let you add bigger tires and may end up being just fine for
your needs. But, there is a reason they are cheaper.

Full Traction, Teraflex, Rock Krawler and OME all have affordable 2.5"-3" kits
that are just fine by themselves and are ready for future upgrades.

Save yourself the headache, save up a little more and buy a quality
"budget" system. It will save you money in the long run.

gint is right. You need to research this topic thoroughly. I can tell by some of your questions that you have just begun your search. I agree that you should wait a few months if you just got your JK. Know it's limitations/strenghts and what you would like to improve upon. Also, you haven't really given us much to go on...what will you be doing with your rig? Primarily offroad? Daily driver and occasional wheeler? What kind of wheeling (rock, trail, mud)?? Different lifts have different strengths depending on your needs. Sometimes it can benefit you to wait if your budget doesn't allow you to do what you should do the first time around. However, with that being said there are some very nice lifts out there for mall crawling DDs that occasionally wheel that are strong by themselves and only get better as you add to them. WOL has given you sound advice as far as the minimum of what to look for. Give us an idea of your budget and intended use and I'm sure more will chime in. Just my $.02....

Find some tires and wheel is stock, it will suprise you.

Then see what you need from there.

 

thanks for all the answers, i am doing some research and reading up on diffrent lifts. it will be mostly a Daily driver, once or twice a month i will be off roading it, its mostly mud and sand trails i will be on, i plan on taking a trip to rausch creek in pa in the near future.

 

I just bought the OME 2" lift with HD springs. It actually got me about 3 1/2". It was very easy to install. Now I am dealing with another issue that was present prior to the lift, but overall, I am happy with it. I am already buying other items such as an adjustable front track bar, like mentioned earlier.

 

In that case TF 2.5 coil or OME would be great choices IMO. I hope to offroad a bit more but for my mostly DD I chose the 3" TF and added front LCAs and a trackbar and I'm into it a little under $1500. Rausch, huh? You going to Topless for Tatas in August? If so, I'll see you there!
