33's vs. 35's
Have you even seen a stock JK 4 door either X or Sahara?? The X has really small wheels and tires.....My sahara came with the 18 inch rims/tires and my new set up looks 10x different.....There is even a huge difference between my Sahara with my setup and my buddies stock Rubicon...

4 door & 33's doesn't look much different than stock in my opinion.

I went with 35 bfg km2 on a 2.5 TF lift did install myself and am into it for less then 2k. I had 4.10 so it drove ok but I got the superchips and runs awesome now on the 93 tune. Overall right now I have about 2100 but I do need a new front drveshaft on my 4 door. I'm very happy with my setup
I was on the fence with this decission too, glad I payed the extra money and went with the 35's It jus looks right and performs really well! You wont be dissapointed. Good luck with what ever you decide
I'm glad I went with 33's. I've got a TF 2.5" coil lift (1 year old) which has sagged about 1/2" due to my Gobi rack and some other armour. I just came into possession of a set of 35" Duratracs (slightly used) and don't think I could run them without rubbing in full flex. I've been swaying back and forth about using them or not and I just keep seeing the negatives of worse gas mileage and needing a tire carrier.
Just to clarify some things. I love the look of bigger tires and lifts. New bumpers and tire carrier are definitely in the cards and a long arm is scheduled for 2012 and inevitably larger rubber. At this stage in the game I'm prepping for a trip across Canada and the US this July and I probably won't see a lot of harsh trails this year. Although, as my rig stands now It is very capable with 33's. So for my rig 33's work as it has different expectations placed upon it this year. As I'll be traveling long distances the 33's will be better on gas and when loaded up with gear I'll maintain a bit more wheel travel.
I gotta laugh every time I read these debates. People get so caught up with the "look" of bigger tires. I like the "look" too but mods have to make sense and be functional for each individual and their rig. I think you should build a foundation before building a house and not the other way around. How many times have we seen people air down at the trail head. I honestly have a hard time seeing the difference between a 35 or 33 when aired down to 10 or so PSI on the trail.

I mainly went with 33s because it's my dd, I have to drive a lot, and I hate getting bent over at the gas pumps. If I didn't have to drive so much I'd go with 35s. And I still might. With the 4:10s, flaspaq, and even tho it's an auto, they probably would still be "ok".
I do have to say that the unlimited's look drastically better with 35's compared to 33's as opposed to a 2 door with 35's compared to 33's. I think that 37's on a 2 door make it almost look like a toy. I think one aspect of tire choices that people ignore is the width. Just my opinion, but I think a 33x12.50 (315/65 or 305/65)looks meaner than a 295/75. On looks alone, I think that a 4 door with 285/70's might as well just stay stock, but a 4 door with 325's...now that looks meaty.
I'm getting 33x12.50's for my 2 door because I drive 70 miles a day on interstate. If I was in a 4 door, I'd have to bite the bullet and get 35x13.50's. For those with a 2012, the need to re-gear is not quite as big a deal, even with 3.73's (word on the street, anyways).
