Question 35" Tire Recommendations for Daily Driver

Ok, I've finally found out that I can indeed fit a 2.5" TF lift and 35" tires on my JK and clear my garage. I've decided on the full 2.5" coil/shock lift from TeraFlex based on posts I've read here, TeraFlex's rep, and seeing a lift of thiers in person.

So now I have to come up with a set of tires. I confess on this area I'm pretty ignorant but am willing to listen and learn. For example, I'm not 100% up on the XXX/XXRXX system.

I figured I'd start by finding a tire I like then see if I can find it in the size I need. This vehicle will be my daily driver so super soft tires or loud tires will not work as I need to get at least 30,000 miles on these. I'll spend about 95% of my time on pavement/tarmac.

BFG A/T's. I've had good experiences with the BFG A/T's in the past on my YJ when I was running 32's so they're on my list.

Goodyear Silent ArmorI've been reading good things about the Goodyear Silent Armor on other sites and they seem to be a good A/T choice. I've heard mixed things about them on here. I've been assuming that's because they're not a dedicated off road tire. I'd love to hear from some owners of them to get an honest review.

Pro Comp Xterrain Radials. Supposed to be very quite, always heard good things about Pro Comp.

Pro Comp Xtream A/T. 40,000 mile warrenty from Pro Comp. Pro Comp has a good rep in the off road world.

I'm also open to other options. Was considering the newer Goodyear M/T K2's but if they're like the ones that came stock on my Rubi they sing pretty good at highway speed.

Can't go wrong with the BFG A/T's, in my opinion.

Goodyear MT/R Kevlar....best of both worlds, kind of a hybrid tire.

BFG ATs are a well known commodity and as you've mentioned you're aware of their performance. Myself having opted out of running ATs and wanting a more aggressive tread but still good wear and without the drone on the highway went with the Toyo OC MTs. The downside is they are heavy, need siped if you do any amount of snow and ice driving and have a harsher ride than the BFG ATs. For me the difference is that the driving I need to do to get around isn't as important as the driving I want to do although definitely in the minority.

I've had really good luck with the BFG AT's on my Bronco. Really good road manners, and it's a pretty good off road tire.

I'm running the Hankook Dynapro M/T's in a 33x12.5. Been impressed so far and the best part is, they're about half the price of the other tires. Got them for $160 per tire.

BFG A/T's all the way.

Id love a more aggressive tread pattern, but my JK sees 30K miles each year and a mud tire wont cut it for me.

I have the BFG A/T's and while they are not the best off road tire, they get the job done and they work VERY WELL on the street.

I've had BFG AT's on my full size dodge for 10 years now, certainly can't go wrong with this tire.

But a question for you.
30,000 miles isn't all that much for an AT, is it? Are you planning on wearing them out and upgrading, or are you really hoping for them to last 50-60k?

I ask because my thought process when buying for the JK was different. I ended up with - why pay the extra money for BFG's when I know I'll want to upgrade to a MT in a year or two anyway. So, I went with Nitto Terra Grapplers, and have been very happy with them so far. 'Considerably' cheaper than the BFG's, more aggressive look, and have had no problems with them so far. (good on road manners, and have worked well on dirt, rock and snow. Haven't tried them in mud yet, but guessing they aren't great)

I don't know what to expect for treadwear on them, but if they actually last 50-60k, great! If they wear out in 30-40k, that's fine and I move on to MT's.
