35's or 37's?
Need some help deciding what tire size. My jeep sees about 1% off road and 99% on road. I like the looks of the 37's but I do drive it 20m one way to work 3 days a week.
I keep reading about how 37's are going to break the 44's, and really don't have the $$ for dana 60's. I already have an OME HD lift w/clayton adj arms and the 285's seem small.
I think the 35's will fit as everything is currently, but what about the 37's? What will need to be replaced? Just the springs & drive lines? Gears will have to replaced anyway so that is not a factor.
How are the road manners of 37's (probably will go with the Toyo's). What about brakes? I fully expect to get a hemi when the funds are available. Obviously I'm not hard core and I'm pretty gentle on stuff.
What do you all think? Thanks

Here we go again ! I was trying to make the same choice about 6 months ago in 2 days got 57 responses I would say 80% said go for 37's. I do use it pretty extreme off road but it is my daily driver (only 5 miles one way). but we do drive to our vacation home 250 miles about once a month and no problem.
So yes I went with the 37's but I did do all the right stuff together such as 4" tere flex, regear, programmer, KM2's (thrilled with on/off road), exaust, drive shafts, and chrome molly front axles. it drives and handles better than stock and it looks in proportion.
Even primarily on road go for it. Jeff

Welcome aboard.

I'd go with the 35's. Just because it's much more practical and within my budget. If you've got extra money and think you'll regret 35's down the road, by all means get the 37's.

If 37s are what you like then get 37s. You won't ever be completely happy with the 35s. I would not worry about the axles, based on how described your use of your JK the axles will be fine. Regearing should be done either way.
Tires are a big investment. Get what you want the first time. Wish i would have.

You will need more lift to clear the 37's and new driveshafts also. For a daily driver I would go for 35's but 37's look good on an Unlimited with the right set up.

If you're thinking of which size tires now, you'll regret NOT getting 37s, provided you don't mind spending the extra $bucks now or soon on drivetrain strengthening upgrades.
Most will agree 35s on stock drivetrain are fine for all but the toughest terrains.
I went with 35s on my daily driver and 5,000 miles later I'm now figuring out what I need to upgrade to put 38-40 inch tires on - not because I need them, but because I enjoy modding and evolving - my rig will always be work in progress.
