I have 37's and am thinking of downsizing next time to 35's. I have
44's in a rubicon. 37's are a lot of mass to turn. I have superior front shafts, and have broken one of them already. From what i have read 37's are kind of at a point where it is a little too much for 37's for rocks. I am also pointing the finger at these larger tires for part of the problem that i am getting 10.5 mpg.

In the hundreds of posts I've read, this is the first time I've read anyone thinking of of going back down to 35's! (Granted i've only been on the forum for 6mos or so.... :P)

I wish Northridge could change the entry on my credit card slip. As far as my wife is concerned it would be better to say porn from a 900 number than another charge from Northridge .... Don't ask for pic's as the parts are in my warehouse at work, way under the home radar!

Bought a additional set of TMPS sensors so it should be a pretty smooth transition to the new rubber and hopefully an easier sell of the 285's.

Got one of the AEV rear bumpers on order, but who really knows how long that will take.

Dave says the OME 4" coils are 4 weeks out, so I guess in the mean time I can get the tires mounted and the gears done.

Since I have way to much time to think about this I called dynatrac for a quote today to replace the axle housings. Seems like 6k will do it for a "trail 60" and a pro rock 44 and then swapping my front parts into the new housing. Any thought to this approach?

Picked up the tires at work on Friday .....

Since I don't know how to use photo shop .....

I think they may be too large ....

I have been working in this very issue for a while now and I am finally going with the 35's. Thanks for all the input.

LOL 35's for me! I haven't got stuck yet with my 31.9's.

And I use mine as a DD with limited funds.

I was convinced on 35s today after having decided on 37s. Basically, the reasoning was based on almost a 40% increase in weight from going from 35s to 37. Also, handling on the road and at speed offroad decreases greatly with the additional height and unsprung weight.

I would rather have more of a sport jeep than a monster truck. And in most cases, the one inch height difference is not going to make a difference. I still agree that 37s look great on the unlimiteds.

I am curious as to how you like the Toyos. Do you notice the additional weight when driving?

Go with the 37's. You will love the look, if you are on road you won't really need any taller lift and you where regearing any way.
