I'm running 35's and about to regear to 4.88's with my 6 speed, maybe I'll actually be able to use 6th gear on an incline! Has got to help wheeling too, just got back from Moab and managed fine with the stock gears but was spinning alot of RPM

It is not hard to take tire size differences by percentage and see how it is changing your gearing by the same percentage. I think re-gearing just goes with upgrading to larger tires and should be considered one of the highest things on an upgrade list.
I've seen most breaks off-road because someone was geared too high and had to hit an object too hard to get over it. When it comes to street driving, we all know that a Jeep that is geared too high (read underpowered), just sucks to drive!
Just my experience and opinion!
