Thanks G_M! Looking forward to seeing how you did it.

The reason I tried to explain what you were doing/saying is I am a huge fan of LCG and do really like your Jeep. If break over angle isn't a concern (and out west for the Unlimited it is) I think selective and controlled cutting is perfect, plus it removes that (what I consider extremely dumb and ugly) seam in the middle of the rear wheel wells - another win.

Honestly the break over angle is fine. Unless I'm trying to climb over concrete dividers and stuff, there is RARELY a time when I can't just go around the obstacle or hit it in a way that doesn't hang me up. I'm not scared to USE my skid plates. And also, I don't even come upon obstacles that big that I need to drive straight over. It's a bit ridiculous how much people talk about break over angle as it applies to daily driving JKs. I mean give me a break. Let's not pretend these people can't go around these obstacles or even run into them much. How much crazy shit do you need to do in a jk? Let's be real.

That's my point about that. Now no, I can't just be dumb and drive over massive boulders without lifting my tires. But I never need or want to. I have been able to do everything my lifted friends can do, either due to tire size being larger than them, or due to not having obstacles so crazy and unavoidable that I will hang up.

And if you think abut it, my jeep leveled 1.5" on true 37" tires has an equal or higher break over angle than most jeeps on 35s. So it's not even a hindrance really. But no, I have no Boulder fields. Even if I did my tires would get me pretty far before I got hung up

Sorry guys I got home from work after dark tonight. I'm off tomorrow and will be able to get some pictures and info about exactly what I did. I will post it in this thread as opposed to making a new one.

I also think you did a great job. Was it hard? Do you have pics of all steps you took?

Sorry people I have had unforeseen things prevent me from taking pictures and writing up what I can. I will be able to do that today by the end of tonight for sure.

I also might mention that my jeep came with 17/59 springs. Not 18/60. I don't know how mine sits so high even with PSC bumpers and rocker knockers and side armor. All I did was take the spare off. And it is leveled 1.5" up front with coil spacers. I still consider this no lift though as I'm sure many would. Throw on some $25-50 spacers is all.

In the mean time, before I give a full detailed report, here's the stock wheel well with the virgin 37" at ride height. And here's a shot of it after I finished trimming and folding and hammering.

The only other thing I did was fold up that little half inch of seam around the back corners that pokes out under the stock flares

I also have 59s rear and with a 2.5" rear spacer it took 4" front spring (without spacer of course) to level.

Also be aware that not all 37s are created equal. 37" Pitbulls will not fit without a lift unless you cut out the rear tubs. They barely fit with 2.5" lift, trimmed tub bumpstops and flat fenders.
