I agree with Blown-JK... Only because it's like getting your girl a boob job... Why only go up one size? That's a waist of money.

Now if you were in my shoes, I have 2:73 or something like that. A set of 4:10's is a fairly big jump from what I have. I'm also thinking about moving down from 35's to a 34 or maybe even 33's

4.10 would be a total waste of money and you'll be disappointed in the long run.

You won't notice a difference with 4.10's.

Is that 2.73 your transfer case low gear ratio? Usually factory axle gears are 3.21 , 3.73, or 4.11

I was just joking about the 2.73... (discribing how low it felt) I actually have the 3.21. I should have clarified that.

Just picked up my rig this morning. 2013 2 door manual, and I went from 3.21s to 4.56s. I'm a pretty light rig with stock bumpers and rubicon take off rims/tires (255/75/17).

With my stock gearing in 6th gear I was running 2000 rpms at 75 mph. With 4.56s and nothing else changing I was running the same gear and speed at 2900 rpms. In all honesty, for me the rpms are higher than I'd like since I really do want to stick with these tires. Its hard for me to justify paying nearly double for a set of tires whether they are 33s or 35s when I can pick up a full set of take offs for as cheap as they are and I am equally pleased with how they handle on the trails that I enjoy riding.

I know the power is going to be nice when going up the canyon, I think I'll have to wait and see how the new gears affect my mileage. Over the nearly 12k miles I have driven my JK I average 17.5 mpgs which is hand calculated and documented on a spreadsheet. If the mpgs are a wash then I'll be fine with the re-gear, if they drop a significant amount I may be less than pleased since I prefer expo off roading. I suppose only time will tell.

I should also say that I am at elevation. SLC is approx 4,200 feet which does affect rpms and mileage and whatnot.
