46" claws
Just a few things here. One in KY which is where OP is from, there isn't a height limit or tire size limit to be road legal. Honestly it is more about bumper and light location.
I had a friend that lived in KY and he drove an F-350 on 52's, lol he was so high he could see eye to eye with truck drivers.
There is an old article on him back when he was running 46's
Do a google search for "2001 Ford F350 Super Duty - EL Diablo" and it's the first link.
It was awesome, the family and I were passing in that area and swung by his house to meet him face to face and see the truck. It was so tall my 5 year old could stand up straight and completely under the bumper. lol She said she wanted one when she could drive.
Anyway, I think it's awesome that you are fulfilling one of your dreams to make a rig like you described.

BTW notice at the bottom it has the specs on his truck including gears and what not.
To everyone else, he didn't ask for it so keep the opinions to your self unless it's positive. Geesh! Didn't your mama teach you "If you can't say something nice, then don't say anything at all!?!?"

I road with a buggy running 49s last weekend. He was on Rockwells and a AMC 401. Once you take this step you are esentially a JK buggy. With a full width axle you should have clearence from the fenders, and of course you will need to put some stretch in it. The links and rod ends will need to be crazy big and strong
I think when some of the nay sayers read your post all they could see was a JK with standard width axles and the factory 5 link with crazy tall tires trollin the parking lot at the mall.
I am looking forward to see the final product

Cuz they make 46's!!!
I say go for it!! It's your money, your idea. If it doesn't accomplish what you have in mind, you will continue to have fun with it until it does.
And remember, If you come across something in life that you do not like, CHANGE IT! If you cannot change it, CHANGE THE WAY YOU THINK ABOUT IT"
I'm a fan of yours! (With or without the pics)

Saw an Unlimited on 42's at the Badlands in Attica, Indiana once. It had an exoskeleton-cage set up and all kinds of goodies.
