Default 5.13 gears initial impressions

2 words for you.... MUST HAVE.....

Picked up the jeep from Gerry at Lunatic Customs in Grand Prairie...did an excellent job installing the 5.13 gears along with the rear ARB locker and compressor.

Gerry is awesome to deal with...just a laid back guy that does excellent work for a great price.

My review so far... I drove for almost a year with 35's.... instant I would get in the jeep I would automatically turn off the OD... now with the 5.13's I drive with the OD on and it rides even better... it is like the jeep has another gear or something. Up reasonable hills....no downshifting....real nice to drive around town..has great "get up and go"....

Totally worth it.... you must put this on your Mod list!!

Thanks again Gerry!!!

what RPM's are you turning at 70mph?

I test drove the Teraflex 2 dr JK on 35'' Duratracs with 5.13 gears and that thing was amazing. Amazing!

My 513s were the best mod I ever did after the lift and bigger tires. I think it rides better now than it did stock.

Gears definitely make the JK drive like night and day. 6th gear can hold its on up hills no problem. I'm using 4.88's

I also noticed you can start out in 1st gear without giving it any gas...just let the clutch go and it doesn't stall, just goes!

My shop told me to change the front and rear diff. Fluids after 500 miles. Did all of you guys do this as well??

Yep, you'll want to do that.
