Mel and his crew installed mine and I could not be happier. Gears fix alot of issues.

I also noticed you can start out in 1st gear without giving it any gas...just let the clutch go and it doesn't stall, just goes!

My shop told me to change the front and rear diff. Fluids after 500 miles. Did all of you guys do this as well??
I'm interested in doing something similar. What shop did you use? I'm not too far from your area.

Well since the gear maker says to change it I would change it for that reason alone. I know that the aftermarket gear makers have a coating on the gears that wears off during the break-in period that will be in the oil. Also it is your chance to inspect everything to make sure things are good. Is your guy offering you any kind of warranty on the gears and the installation? If so he should want you to replace the oil just to increase the odds that things are OK.

Normal ... whats normal, i think its all depends on how you drive and the speed you drive it. however, i would think you would see some incread just in the fact that jeeps are under geared anyway at 3.21 and 3.73

I havent regeared yet but talked to a guy about it yesterday. I need to stop moding for a bit, so i will have the money to regear now

I've recently had my 5:13's done. Drove it directly from the gear shop to the tire shop and had 315/70r17's put on. The 5:13's combined with a Superchips tuner completely changes the auto JK. What a huge difference.

I run about 2600 rpm at 75 on the freeway. The tranny doesn't search for gears and there's a alot more lower end power.

I've since been to Silver Lake Sand Dunes, the 5:13's are awesome offroad.
