5:38's, no question,,,you need them to counteract the weight of the tires n wheels

Also, it's quite difficult to take an average with only one value taken from post 22.
So look through the other 1000 threads asking the same thing.

Everyones numbers will vary, because everyone will have different 'actual' tire heights, and you will have people use mfg specs instead of going outside and measuring, and you will have people that haven't re-programmed for the new tires, etc.

Assuming that you use the actual measured tire height, that chart is very close to actual rpm's. Again, MEASURED heights, not mfg's. For me, it was correct for 3 different tire heights (stock sahara 18's, 33" nitto, 35" Maxxis) and 3 different gear ratios (3.73, 5.13, 5.38).

So, what exactly is your issue with an easy to use, easy to understand chart that was built specifically for JK's?

Touchy touchy. His information is good even if you don't like it, or the way he put it.

In only 6 pages I had to read the same questions asked over and over. Come on folks, pretty please, lets reduce the noise and try reading the entire thread before hitting the reply button.

Although not regarding 37s, here is a relevant post about rpm and rear wheel horsepower with 35s and automatic vs. 6 speed transmissions:

This chart is for actual tire size. Measure your tire from the ground to the top outside edge of the tread to find your actual mounted tire height.

Guys,

So if a 35" tyres is really a 34" once mounted on the rim and on the car.... should we then be looking at athe 34" tyre size on the chart?????
