Aberle Offroad Aluminum Bumper
I was on craigslist this morning here in Denver just looking out of curiosity for any JK stuff that might be for sale and I came across a post for this.

Looks interesting. I'm no expert but I would think that, although it would be much lighter, it probably wouldn't be very strong, to my knowledge there aren't any Aluminum Bumpers out there other than this one and my logic tells me there's a reason. Anyways just thought this was interesting and thought I would share it to see what you all thought.

I sent them an email asking the price, weight and if they offer any coating/color options. I'll let you know what they say.
I don't doubt that it could support the weight of the jeep as the pics on their website show but I wonder how well it would hold up if you hit a rock or a tree with it. As I said before I am certainly no expert but in my experience Aluminum is a pretty soft metal.

I was quoted $721 for this bumper back in early March and they were not yet available.
I would beinterested if this is the same price your quoted.
I kind of like the design but would be concerned about the alum. as well

The style is great, but if I spend $700+ (just a guess based on a previous post, I haven't gotten an email back yet) I want to know that if I do graze a tree or rock or even hit it full on I won't have to replace my bumper.
