ABS, ESP,BAS, and TCS lights
I had this problem and mine is bone stock. Turned out to be a bad LR wheel speed sensor. It took me 2 trips to the dealer to get this fixed. At first they said the couldn't find the problem, and then the tried to tell me that the ESP BAS and ABS lights can come on from the wheels spinning at different speeds. I told the guy no way, cause the lights came on in the garage when i first started it, I wasn't even moving. Later that weekend, the ESP went nuts while I was dirving approx 30MPH and it killed the engine power and felt like one of the brakes was holding, because the Jeep pulled to the right. I called the dealer right away and this time they changed the sensor. Problem solved. It was a bit scary though, glad my wife wasn't driving it when this happened. If you have this kind of problem, you can't let the dealer brush you off, just be a pain in the ass, and they'll fix your stuff.
well i went through and checked all the fuses, and everything was fine, so checked the censors on all 4 wheels, everything was in place so i was like might as well just wash the underside out to make sure no dirt or salt was inside there, well i washed em and the lights stayed on then while i was driving home they went off. i stoped and turned the car off and waited and then started it up and drove around for awhile and they didnt come back on so tommrow im goign to go out and see if they stay off and ill let u guys know, crazy crazy stuff i have to say
It's back at the dealer again today. My wife was driving it and she said all the lights came on again. Sure enough, they're all on steady. Dealer tried to tell me that it could be because of the wheels spinning again. I asked him if he had ever tried to spin the wheels on one of these newer Jeeps, and by his answer, I knew he hadn't. You can't really spin the wheels when the system is working properly. I told him that when the wheels spin, the ESP is supposed to help you out, not turn off and tell you there's a problem. We just got hit with alot of snow here, and the roads are really bad. I bet that when it's nice and sunny in the summer time, the esp and abs will work just fine, when you never need it. Once this thing is out of warranty, I'm probably just going to disable the whole system and pull those lights out of the dash, and pretend that they were never there. Oh by the way, they said that they need to replace the connector at the LR speed sensor. We'll see what happens.
well i discounted my battery last night and left it off for about 15 min. put it back on ligts stayed on, now today, i did the test where u turn your car on and off now im getting the code (U1418 ‐ IMPLAUSIBLE RIGHT WHEEL DISTANCE SIGNAL) anyone have that come on?
I had the same code, except for the left rear. Today I picked up my jeep from the dealer and they repalaced the two rear wheel speed sensor connectors. They said there was a problem with water getting into the connector. Seems to be alright so far, but I've only driven about 25 miles since the repair. Check to see if there is water in your connectors, or better yet, take it to the dealer, they sould look after it for you.
when i took my jeep in last week for that abs recall i had told em about the lights ya know, and the guy told me that i had water in my brake lines, i just brushed it off cause if there was water in my brake lines then thats a fault from jeep cause i checked the lines and there was no cracks or kinks or anything, thats what he prob ment then i have water in the connectors.
well i took it to the dealer today and looked at it, they said it was the wheel speed sensor i hope that when they fix it that the problem dont come back and thats what the problem is.
