if it does not require drilling how do you mount it in the jeep? what prevents someone from just stealing the whole thing?

I have the flexatrunk and have the reat tether hooked up to the latch as well. The only bad thing is that if you ever want to take the car seat out, you pretty much have to tear the flexatrunk apart to unhook it.

Well, that answers that, Thanks

Does anyone have the Bestop Instatrunk with a rear latch system car seat?

Here's a link to the bestop installation guide:

http://www.bestop.com/installation_guides/42637.pdf

In short it uses the existing bolt holes for the subwoofer mounting on the right and on the left there is a pre-drilled hole/nut below the sport bar base.

no, but I was at Home Depot the other day and saw this mobile job box from stanley

add the www to

.stanleytools.com/default.asp?CATEGORY=ZAG+ROLLING+WORK&TYPE=PRODUCT &PARTNUMBER=037025R&SDesc=Stanley%26%23174%3B+Mobi le+Tool+Chest

Cost $59, fits perfectly. i havent mounted it in yet, i just wrap a cable around the rollbar and hook it to a lock on the front of the box, thus locking it in place.

Not a bad option if you want cheaper lockable storage, but easily removale.

I like the instatrunk and might end up going that route myself. Summer is here and I could use some secure storage. For thos of you who have it, can you still access the recessed compartment with the instatrunk installed? Some of the pics I have seem make it appear as though the back of the trunk sits on top of where the compartment is, making it seemingly impossible to open.

No one seems to make one that fits my needs for my 2 door.
  1. Steel. Period. If i wanted plastic storage, I'd drive my daughters Little Tikes car
  2. Ability to access child seat latch system points.
  3. Works with factory subwoofer.
  4. Easily removable without tools. Knurled knobs would be great.
that is all i want. Well, and Heidi Klum too, but that'd be asking a little much.
