I need some help here. I bought the 4dr X off the lot and there are no hooks on the bumper and nowhere to hook onto in the rear, no tow package. I've been saving up for some new wheels and tires so aside frome getting new bumpers is there somewhere to mount some D-rings or something to the frame where they will be easy to get to if I get stuck? I did a search on here but all i could find was adding the hooks to the stock bumper but i don't want to cut a hole in it.
Any thoughts, links, pics?

Putting the Jeep hooks in doesn't require any really big cutting, and it looks pretty good. The holes are in the top, and they look just fine.

For the rear it is just as simple as adding a receiver hitch to get a central tow point, if you have welding skills you could make something similar and put one on each corner. Not sure on the front, mine has the hooks so I have not looked at it that closely.

this is pretty much what I was looking for but it looks like you need the AEV Front Bumper Skidplate for them to work. That's $300 for the skid plate and $100 for the hooks. That gets me to half of a new bumper ... too much right now. But thanks for the reply.

 

I don't need a hitch, other than to have a D-ring mounted in it, instead of a ball. Maybe i'll look to see if I can get a bracket made to bolt to the frame to hold a D-ring on either side ... I never welded but I know some guys that might be able to hook me up.

These are nice for the front, not for the 2007 tho. Is that plastic bumper strong enough to hold these? I'm going to have to get under there and see what it looks like.
These are what I'm looking for but not sure if they will hold up if I need a good tug on them to get unstuck.

Beneath the plastic there is some very hard metal, that is what the factory tow hooks mount to.

 

Go to the AEV website and go to the products page and click on the front bumper and go to the install sheet, on page 15 on pdf install sheet it shows the install of the tow brackets. These can be installed with or w/o the skid plate. You might have to trim your factory skid plate if you keep it installed. I will be ordering these from Quadratec this week. Will post install when i get them.
