Adding D-rings to frame .. any ideas?

Yeah, that was the idea. I didn't think about how far the plastic sticks out though. You're right, they're probably not long enough.

They do, although they aren't marketed that way. They're for the PJ bumpers.

You could simply remove your bumper, remove the tow hooks, bolt these on to the same holes, mark your bumper for the portion that would stick through, cut it out w/ a Dremel or something, re-install bumper. Done!
Anybody see why this wouldn't work?
They are pricey for wht they are though, IMO. I'd just fab my own.

These wouldn't work the way the tow hooks do--they would need to go around the crush cans...like the tow hooks. They would just be mounted to stick out the bottom, instead of the top like the tow hook. I'd like to keep the crush cans on my tube bumper.
If you can fab something like that...how much would you charge?

See if you can draw a pic of exactly what you want. I'm not sure that I can picture exactly what you want.

cut off crush cans
order a couple swivel hoist rings in a size you want. (remember that a horizontal pull is 1/3 of vertical and a working load is 1/2 or less of actual rating so a 4k one would be overkill) like these
have a local machine shop drill the 4 mounting holes to match using your hook as a go-by and have them thread the center hole the same as the bolt for the swivel hoist ring in some 3/4"-1" plate
and dude has 2 big arse ones for sale on ebay right now

I can't really draw :( but here is what the factory tow hooks look like
...instead of the "hook", couldn't the same thing be made, but with a shackle for a D-ring? It would just stick out of the bottom of the crush can cover instead of the top.

don't know about drings but I am fabbing up some helicopter lift points (yes they will be functional) like the HMMWV has for the military; already have the rings bent, just some minor tweaking to get the bends perfect and then it's time to mount them to the frame and poke them through the PSC louvered hood whenever that goes on the market, should be nice
