Maybe I am missing something, but if you are getting a heat reduction hood, why would you want to put back on the insulation from the factory underside? Seems just like a mud and water trap to me.

how's the water & snow situation with these hoods ? I live in New England & we get everything here

I'm in Seattle so I get everything... The engine compartment is rated as a wet environment. Nothing that goes through the hood vents is going to cause problems.

Got mine installed last week. Local Jeep dealer I purchased from is an AEV dealer so I got it through them and they have a body shop who has done several for them, came out very nice.
