Plasti dip your grill to match it & it probably won't look as bad.

I have one problem I'd like to share with you guys.
I installed the hoodlift kit (Part #93111 specific for the AEV hood) on my 2012 JK.

The install was done 100 % correctly and as per instructions. Measurements were taken and cross checked multiple times, so no problems there. After installing the shocks on the brackets (fat part up and shock rod down) I noticed that the shocks seriously pull on the body side (cowl) hood hinge and pushing the entire hood forward. This is very visible with the hood closed as the gap between the hood and the cowl noticeably increases.

When lifting and closing the hood everything is clear and operates smoothly. But when closed it's as if the shocks are too strong, pulling on the cowl and pushing the hood forward. I had to remove the shocks and seek your advice. (All my CJs and YJs were equipped with hood lifts . Never a problem).

It's as if the JK hood hinges are too flimsily attached to the cowl.

We have the hood so we know what it looks like.. In a "friendly way", we just want to know if anyone has put the stock inside liner on AEV hood ??

I wanted to put the OEM hood liner on the AEV hood and gave it many thoughts. I had also decided to cut out the space for the central vents as well as the side vent of course.
I finally chose not to put it because it would have been a water trap and actually now ... I don't miss it at all.

LoL, I didn't post it for 'those looking to re-install the hood liner' as anyone would be able to see it would be a water trap like I mentioned many posts upwards. *in a friendly way* I posted it to show those who are contemplating buying the hood that mentioned that it wasn't constructed to take the weight of the factory hood, etc. Just showing that it is built tough as nails, and also to show where the holes I drilled ended up.
