Also, how hard is it to install the AEV bumper?
Install is easy, way better with two people though. Add the tire carrier to the Install and it's only slightly harder. If you do get the tire carrier, clean the threads for the zerk fitting. Very easy to break if you don't.

If I do not use the tire carrier is there a hole in the bumper? Does anyone have a pic of an AEV bumper without the tire carrier and can share pics of all angles.

yes, there's a hole. not sure if there's a plug included; I would think there is since the tire carrier is optional. Worst case, order the corner from an MW3 as its solid.

There's a plug kit you can get for filling the hole. It runs $19. I ordered it for my bumper when I ordered it thus week, I can try and take some pics once it arrives next week.

I have 285/75/17 terra grapplers on 17" matte black ultra wheels. Would it be recommended to install a tire carrier when I get the AEV bumper? The tires only have 5k on them so I won't need to upgrade for awhile and the largest I would go w would be 295/70/17 since my lift is only 2".

i would say if you have the money, order the tire carrier with the bumper.it will save you the time of uninstall and reinstall of the bumper if you go with the aev tire carrier.
i carry a hilift and pull-pal so i ordered everything at once including the gas can too.
good luck with your choice.
