Look at the link to my album I posted above, I did it myself, I have mechanical know how but I am far from a body guy. Plus I had over half a case of beer in me to get up the courage to cut it. After words sand it a little, spray it with some self etching primer, and silver paint. No rust, and I did it about 3 years ago.

The pilot drill on a 2" hole saw makes the hole easy to cut, pulling the drill into the sheet metal and leaving little/no room for error once you've taped the templete on. Just hold onto the drill securely so it doesn't twist. Absolutely no reason to have someone else install it for you.

There's no need for more photos of the install, the AEV install instructions are posted on Quadratec's website with tools needed - they're easy to follow and decent clear photos. They forgot to add you'll need Torx head to losen the windshield torx bolts, and I used a grinder with cut-off wheel to slice between the two 2" holes.

Cutting the hood is easy. There is some room for error even. (I'd say you could be off by an 1/8" and not notice once the cowl is put on).

I would use self tapping sheet metal screws instead of the rivets though. Looks cleaner. Easier to install. Less tools needed

What is the difference in oiling or running the K&N filter dry? Is it because when oiled the filter catches more debri than when it's dry? If that's the case, running the snorkel with ram air you should use oiled filter. Thanks fellow jeepers for all the replys.
