X2. Last summer I averaged 20+mpg, most of the winter it was 18-18.5mpg. This summer it was back up over 20mpg, until I took the top off.

Its been proven over and over again that oxygenated fuel (winter fuel) gives worse mileage. I have noticed 2-3 mpg difference in all my vehicles.

Third you need to do the calculation about the same time of day and/or when the conditions especially temperature are the same. Not to mention all of the elbows used in the RR to install it to the factory airbox. I just don't believe it would be possible to see an increase with this or any other snorkel system on the market thus far. For ram air effect to be effective it has to travel a short distance and straight into the intake to have an effect. As for colder air...I seriously doubt it! Again it is going further and spending more time in the engine compartment and then going through the exact same OEM airbox. Sure it would be nice if it did increase MPG's, but until I see documentation that it does I will absolutely not believe it...it's just too hard to believe!

BTW, I will be adding a snorkel as soon as I can narrow down which it is that I think is the better design.
Weather conditions where the same going there as coming back. WOW I forgot the M on "INFORM". Like you never forgot a letter when typing.

I am not debating. i just stated what I have seen and there are two other people here with the same snorkel that saw an average of what I got.

Take it as you want. I am not saying YOU will see a difference. I just stated that I did. You don't like other people sharing there opinions and you just want to shoot them down, even though you do NOT have a snorkel.

Debate ended on my part.

When I added ram air to my 5.0L Mustang, I went from 22-23 on the HWY to 25-26 on the hwy. It was a true ram air though.

Ok I just have to say something, people need to STOP thinking a snorkel is made/designed to improve MPG, its NOT!!!!!! if you are buying it for that or even think it should just because how much it costs you really should just go buy a Prius, These are JEEPS we are driving not some gas saving green vehicles and nothing you can do to Help you get to being a gas saving JEEP driving doors off, top off, 4wheeling son of a bitch

ITS A JEEP!!!! you are NOT going to be saving hundreds on gas no matter what you do to it, so go drive and enjoy, did I mention drives me nuts seeing all the talk about MPG with a JEEP....there are may be a little more posts about MPG now that gas prices suck, but there were still posts about it before gas prices took off......didnt people reallize what they were buying? what the damn window sticker said? which is always on the plus side of bulls*it.....just imagine if the windshiled was still as straight as the old cj's

A SNORKEL should be considered for ONE thing and thats to help but not eliminate the chance of hydrolocking, that is 100% reason I bought mine and why anyone should be buying one. OK maybe two things, for very dusty/sandy enviroments

NICE!

Again, the purpose of this thread is not to discuss how much MORE the snorkle is gaining in MPG, it for factual informational purposes only. For better or worse I am just trying to gain knowledge...not cause debates (see the middle of this thread) or hope I will see a huge gain in MPG to offset the price of the snorkle.

Thanks for those who contributed their results, it's good info!
