AEV tire carrier and stock bumper. Has anyone done this yet?

how does the tire carrier bolt to the stock bumper? does aev send you some kind of mounting kit or what?

It doesn't mount to the stock bumper...it mounts to the passenger side frame rail.

Not yet but the can mount and Hi lift mount will be done very soon

Also, does the spare tire rest against the new tire carrier? can you remove the stock bumpstops?

I really like the way the entire AEV rear set up looks but I wish you could adjust the height of the spare to put it as low as possible. It looks like no matter what size tire you put on there you will no longer be able to see out the back window at all. To anyone with this setup: Do you think it would be easy to cut and re-weld the mount for the tire to move it lower or is it designed in a way that would keep you from doing this?

The wheel mount slides into what looks like a 2" receiver on the AEV tire swing as shown below during installation. I suppose you could have a "receiver drop adapter" fabricated to lower the tire on the swing but I've not seen anyone do this yet, or see the need to really. I think many of the aftermarket tire swings are designed to carry a bigger tire and with a larger tire comes limited visibility out the back.
