Besides, if your speedo is off like that, you are actually putting LESS miles on your Jeep. That means when you hit say the 50K miles mark, it should really be at 60K or more. Just keeps up the value of the Jeep, having less miles on it.
Don't you think it'd be a tad dishonest to sell a Jeep with less miles showing on the odometer than you knew you'd driven?

Yeah....there is actually a spot on the pink slip that the seller must sign stating that the odometer reading is accurate.

So how big of a difference is the performance of the JK with the power re-programing thing?

If you sell it and sign that pink paper that was mentioned it is a big offense. I believe that in some states it is illeagal to not re-callibrate your spedo. Mine was off by ~10% so at 60mph I was doing 66. If you normally run 5 - 10 mph over, then add 10% and that is a pretty good ticket. I got the hypertech maxenergy, and I love it. I would recommend it definately.

Running the math suggests that going from 32s to 35s will throw off your speedometer by closer to 6 mph. Also, as you mention, the odometers will not read correctly. If you have the trip computer option (mpg, estimate range, etc), all of that will also be off. Not that it's all that accurate in the first place.

it is not a set amount of mph that it will change as stated earlier it will be about 10% from 32 to 35's. So at 30mph will be 3 off and at 70 will be 7mph off. I am with the other guys just drive accordingly you know how fast you are really going. I am not spending the money to adjust my speedo. Mine is a manual so it will not help my shifting points becuase they change everythime I drive.

I get your point, but doesn't the parts go through less rotation... meaning less wear on the parts.

I know... I know... More weight means more weight on the bearings. Does it really matter that the tripometer is off about 5 percent. Is it that big of a deal?

Any other options besides $200 programmer? Can anyone that works at a dealership verify that the dealership can only go up to 32's?

Yeah me too, but I was worried about getting my Jeep inspected here in PA.

I might get a fail because the change in tire size changes the odometer.
