Anyone have the Daystar replacement dash panel?
I just lined the upper tray of my Tuffy console with rubber on the bottom and it is the perfect size for sunglasses and cell phone storage (plus I can hang the garage door opener there too!). It keeps them out of the sun and away from crooks prying eyes too!!
That black dash panel will cook my Oakleys!

...takes all the fun out of watching someone throw on a pair of 425°F sunglasses...
They would probably get that hot in my F-350, but the JK windshield doesn't let nearly as much sunlight in.
I thought about having a mold and several of these trays made for the JK, but I was hoping that someone with better access would beat me to it...

I want something that looks like the tray in my F350 dash. Obviously there isn't as much room, but you can put a wallet, sunglasses, phone, etc...
For this to work in the JK, you would actually have to make a raised edge above the profile of the current dash piece and then create a flat area at the bottom.

Either of those would be tempting but the embossed logo kills my desire for them.
If I want to advertise for the manufacturers of my jeep accessories, I'll put stickers on the outside like a race car!

Remove me from the guinea pig list for the Daystar lid. I canceled the order. It is on back order for a while, and I will wait to see if any other companies step up to make one.
You know... at first I did not like the looks of this... especially the back pocket (one closest to windshield)... but I got to thinking... what about adding a switch box there... maybe add some guages? That would not look too bad. If I got one I would put my air pressure guage there (for onboard air) and switches for lights, lockers, etc. Just a thought.
I received my Daystar dash panel last night. When I opened the box, I was happy with the look of the piece, and I was also fine with the piece being black. The logo didn't even bother me, because it's small. So we took it out and installed it. That's where the major disappointment came in. The fit was terrible. There is a little piece underneath that fits in a slot on the dash, and it appears that they molded the piece in such a way that's it doesn't line up properly. So to make the story short, I'm sending it back. Very disappointing...
