I know we all agree that we need the storage. I don't think any of us particularly like the Daystar logo though. I'm thinking that you could sand off, the logo, and paint the panel silver, a la Armycop's 6 dollar dash upgrade.

I used velcro extreme to secure it. The adhesive is designed to stick to porous materials, but i liked the color(gray) and the thickness. It needed to be a little thicker than normal velcro because of the wire banding around the bottom.

What do you think?

Also mounted my Valentine 1 above the rearview with velcro and ran the power wire behind all the trim panels and down to the switched outlet.

Also, as a side note I put the Tuffy center console in last week. I'm glad that I chose it instead of the cubby cover. It installed easy and is very convenient.
I'm sorry but that is the gayest, ugliest, dorkiest thing I have ever seen.

.
I'd be afraid for my jeep to be seen in the parking lot there. I'd have to park at Michaels next door.

There is a little piece underneath that fits in a slot on the dash, and it appears that they molded the piece in such a way that's it doesn't line up properly. So to make the story short, I'm sending it back. Very disappointing...

Same here. I recvd my order from Quadratec last night and after install noticed that when you are facing the dash top panel straight on, the middle curves up and doesn't line up with dash.

I do like the color and especially the function (my sunglasses now has a home). I will try to put something in the back of it to push it down...I just HATE having to return things especially after I've already installed it...

That curve is one of the fit issues I had too. I have no idea why they would have designed it that way. It would have been just as easy for them to design it straight across like the factory one.

Well I got the part today. The fit over all is nice. and it passed the GF test, she said she likes it so it went in her JK.

My only problem was when pulling the stock one off I must have dropped the drivers side clip into the dash because it wasnt on the stock part when it came off.

So i have to stop by the dealer now to get a clip.

Anyone else purchase from quadratec and have anything else they wish to add? Is there enough room on the raised portion to fit say the mount disc for a Garmin Nuvi to mount the suction cup too? Anyone find any new products out there? So far to date the daystar is the only one I could find.

I bought from Quadratec, installed it a week ago. Fit is not great, mine leaves a 3/16" gap on the sides, and the color is "off" from the rest of the dash. The compass sending unit fits wrong on the Daystar and pushes the cnter up slightly. I also added this at the same time:

Holds my GPS 60CSx perfectly.

I picked up two of those "cell phone mats" that hold things on your dash and cut them to fit in the indentations of the Daystar, helps a lot. Not sure it was worth $50 for it, but it did meet my needs for little things. Only I wish I could cover them so I don't get the top slashed/unzipped to lose some spare change.

Any mounting issues with the Bracketron equipment? Did you need the "Dash Trim Tool, (Part #SIT-104)" or will a flat-head screwdriver work OK? Any pictures of the finished install (with the GPS)? Does the power cord for your GPS 60CSx work with the mount?
I've been reading that the Garmin dash mount will not work correctly on curved surfaces, and those that did install it complain about how much the GPS wobbles. This looks like a great mounting system.
