I will say I like the additional space for placing the cell phone or sunglasses on, but the quality of fit is not accepatable for the price. I am going to keep it until I see something better to replace it with.
what did they do about the internal compass? Is there still a place for it to be mounted on the underside?

I'm at the point of building a new one out of diamond tread alum. I bought a new cap from the dealership to use as a model in case I really mess it up... a new cap from dealership runs $5.00. So, its good to see that these add 2 pockets for $45!

I installed one on my 08' and it is okay but i have a wide phone so it does not hold it very good and also it is slippery so i am looking for some padding to put on the flat parts. overall it is something that will hold somethings so i think it is worth the 50 dollars. i got mine from quadretec.

Yes it has a mount under it. I had to buy a new cap too beacause i only had one clip under the one on the jeep and they dont sell just the clips.

I like the fit of the Daystar panel but i did have to have both clips on it other wise the driverside corner was up in the air.

I bought one of these today..I'll see how the color is, but I might try painting it.

Also, I noticed many of you have been buying it from Quadratec but you might check 4WD Hardware - they are selling it for half the price and half the shipping cost as well.

I've been reading that the Garmin dash mount will not work correctly on curved surfaces, and those that did install it complain about how much the GPS wobbles. This looks like a great mounting system.
The Dash Trim Tool is a bent plastic screwdriver. You don't need it. Power cord works fine. The GPS shakes in the Bracketron as well, but it still beeps and I can still read it fine at lower speeds. I can't use it when I'm driving anyway, i'm too fumble-fingered.

If I were doing it again, I'd probably skip the dash tray, it's useful but not really worth the price, and I'd put the money toward a Nuvi for driving GPS use. The Bracketron would then have an iPod in it.

Default Options & Considerations

In my experience, if you put a cell phone up there it will throw off your in-dash compass heading -- it sends mine approximately 180 degrees out of true, and I know others had the same issue.

Here's my alternative, which cost me $2 at the local auto supply store ...

And here's another storage product I'm considering -- anybody have feedback?

Where did you order that switch panel? It looks a lot better than the Daystar replacement at the bottom of the radio column behind the shift.

Thanks.

FYI - I received and installed my daystar panel this weekend. It fit perfectly and looks awesome. Hasn't popped up or isn't bent like other people mentioned. So far it gets 2 thumbs up for me

Only thing could be better about it - they should line the pockets with rubber or some non-sliding material.
