Aussie Locker guys
Bump, anyone else got input? I'm extremely pissed thet these guys are SUPPOSED to be the best in the area, an hour drive. And for someone to try to bullshit me just because I don't know gears and lockers really gets under my skin. What tools do I need to install gears and lockers myself, cause I'm trusting no one to touch my jeep again no matter what the mod or problem. I seriously do not like to be double talked on anything. The damn locker is making noise in 2wd going straight, something is wrong. The noise costitutes wear which constitutes more heat, that cannot be good and no idiot can make me think otherwise. I expected the clicking and clanking when turning, not when going straight. If I was told from the get go that it was going to be a noisey bastard, I'd never put it in. But on the phone the guy said if I got an ARB there would be no noise. No shit sherlock, if I coulda afforded it. Trying to upsell me is pissing me off when the first job wasn't done to par. I'm not a soccermom with no knowledge of anything. Anyway, any help you guys can give me is much appreciated. Mark
I don't have my Aussie installed yet. I can tell you though, that I have literally YEARS of experience with Detroit Lockers in the front of 4x4s. I have never had any problems with the lockers making any kinda noise going straight....AT ALL. They are the same design as the Aussie and Richmond offerings. A good many of those applications had locking hubs, but some did not, like the JK. IF the noise in your Jeep Mark, is coming from the Lock Right, then something, somewhere is not right. I wish we were closer, I would be glad to take a look at it for you. It kinda pisses me off that I cannot help more people hands on.

I had an Aussie in my front diff in my truck that I sold. It was not noisy at all going straight. Turning in 2wd I could hear it click IF I turned the stereo down and stuck my head out the window. In 4wd on the skinny, I could hardly turn. In 4wd with little to no skinny it would turn just fine.
I think you're getting the shaft.
I think you're getting the shaft.
...and this is CORRECT locker operation. I've been trying to tell everyone how they work but keep getting argued down. I'm tellin yall they WILL turn under power....however SLIGHT. If they don't, somethin is wrong. Dammit all.
